The du Maurier Fowey Literary Festival Adult Short Story Competition 2025
Earlier in the year, we told you about the du Maurier Fowey Literary Festival Adult Short Story Competition 2025, which this year had as its theme – Making Waves. The Festival received an incredible number of entries and judging commenced. Raynor Winn, author of The Salt Path, was the guest head judge again this year.
Here is what she had to say about the entries:
The stories were great this year – what an amazing mix of ideas and structures! It was a tricky decision as some had great plots, others perfect sentences or really believable characters. In the end, it was a very difficult choice between two very different stories.
The First prize of £250.00 went to Judith Wilson and the Second prize of £100.00 went to Tim Collyer.
The Festival thanks all those who entered the competition, as well as all those who organised the event and participated in the judging. Special thanks go to Raynor for the vital role that she played in this fabulous competition.
