The du Maurier Fowey Literary Festival 2025 – Saturday 10th May
Today is the first full day of the festival, and there is a packed programme of events for you all to enjoy. The morning begins at 10.30am with the Daphne du Maurier guided walk – Daphne du Maurier's Fowey, with Chrissie Le Marchant. Chrissie will lead you through Fowey showing you the landscapes that were Daphne's inspiration and are intricately involved in Daphne's works.
Jane Todd
Back in town, Living With Jane Austen is the first talk of the day, at 11am in Fowey Town Hall. Novelist and academic Professor Jane Todd celebrates the 250th anniversary of Jane Austen's birth with a talk about her letters, manuscripts and novels.
Iain Dale
At 2pm in Fowey Town Hall, festival Patron, Iain Dale, talks about his long anticipated new book, Margaret Thatcher.

Then, at 4pm in Fowey Parish Church, Michael Morpurgo will present a talk about his life and works.
Sir Graham Brady
At 6pm in Fowey Town Hall, Sir Graham Brady talks about his book, Kingmaker. He will be in conversation with Iain Dale.
War Horse Film Poster
This evening's entertainment, in tribute to Michael Morpurgo, is the highly acclaimed film War Horse, which will be shown at 8pm in Fowey Town Hall. Just bring yourselves – soft drinks and popcorn will be served, and there is a bar if you prefer a drink that is a little stronger.
