The Daphne du Maurier Society of North America, October 2026 Event – A Reminder
The Daphne du Maurier Society of North America is holding its next event on Sunday, 4th October, from 2pm until 4.30pm, at the Dallas Angelika Film Centre 5321 East Mockingbird, Dallas, Texas, TX 75206. It is a private (not pirate) screening of the 1944 film adaptation of Daphne du Maurier’s novel – Frenchman’s Creek.
For members and their guests there is no charge to attend the film, but reservations are required. Soda and popcorn (and chocolate covered raisins) will be available at the concession stand for purchase.

Daphne du Maurier Society members Cindy Jones and Shirley Kinney will introduce the film and Laura Kirklen will lead a post film discussion.
Frenchman's Creek, is the story of an aristocratic English woman who falls in love with a French pirate. What could possibly go wrong there????
The film was directed by Mitchell Leisen and starred Joan Fontaine as Dona St Columb, Arturo de Cordova as Jean Benoit Aubrey (the French pirate), and Basil Rathbone as Lord Rockingham.
