The Daphne du Maurier Society of North America asks…Ever been up a creek without a paddle?

The Daphne du Maurier Society of North America invites you to join them this summer at the Michigan Reading Retreat for a deep dive into Frenchman's Creek. Member Laura Kirkland will lead the discussion of Daphne du Maurier's historical novel about Dona St. Columb's escape from her dull life in London into the world of a (handsome, very handsome) French pirate. The themes of the novel – infidelity, freedom and the conflict between societal expectations and personal desires – will be dissected and debated.
The Reading Retreat takes place on Sunday, 26th July 2026, from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm, at Cottage Grove Association Dining Hall, Higgins Lake, Michigan.
The afternoon will consist of coffee, treats and a discussion of Frenchman's Creek.
Regrettably, Zoom will not be available.
