Fowey Pretty Bus Stop has a new look in time for the du Maurier Fowey Literary Festival
Many of you will already know that in Fowey, we have what is probably the best bus stop ever! As the seasons change, a wonderful group of talented people give the bus stop a new look, usually with a theme related to Fowey and what is happening here at the time. You can see the bus stop as you drive into Fowey along Polvillion Road, on the right-hand side, just after the little roundabout.
The bus stop's latest new look was completed a few days ago, and it is absolutely beautiful. This time, the theme is Daphne du Maurier, chosen because it is almost time for the du Maurier Fowey Literary Festival. The Festival's dates are 1st – 9th May 2026.
Daphne is also a perfect choice because she loved Fowey just as much as we all do.
So, residents of Fowey and visitors to our town, whether coming for the Festival or for any other reason, do look out for the pretty bus stop, with its great portrait of a young Daphne, images of the figure head of the Jane Slade, books and quotes from Daphne's writing, we are sure you will love it, just as much as we do.
