After Midnight: A Special Evening Celebrating the Genius of Daphne du Maurier – 1st October, 7pm
A reminder that on Wednesday 1st October, to celebrate the publication of After Midnight, Virago Press and the Regent Street Cinema are presenting a celebratory event in honour of Daphne du Maurier. The event takes place at the Regent Street Cinema, London, at 7pm.
The evening will open with a live panel discussion of du Maurier's gothic, uncanny imagination with award-winning writer Kit de Waal (My Name is Leon), Sunday Times bestseller Alice Slater (Death of a Bookseller) and acclaimed screenwriters and producers Anna Waterhouse and Joe Shrapnel (Rebecca/Netflix), chaired by broadcaster and journalist Bidisha. The panel will be followed by a screening of Nicolas Roeg's acclaimed adaptation of one of du Maurier's greatest short stories, Don't Look Now (1973).
Copies of After Midnight, with an introduction by Stephen King, will be on sale throughout the evening.
