Daphne du Maurier Society of North America Short Story Study – The Birds – 11th October 2025

The next Daphne du Maurier Society of North America's event is the 2025 Short Story Study, at which the Society celebrates Daphne du Maurier's story, The Birds. Society member Ted Elrick will travel to Dallas to lead the discussion.
Ted is a freelance writer and an active member of the Writers Guild of America, the Writers Guild of Canada and the Mystery Writers of America. He is a graduate of the American Film Institute Center for Advanced Film Studies and a former long-time editor of the Directors Guild of America's magazine. He has a long list of publications and screenplays.
The Birds was Ted's favourite Hitchcock movie growing up, and he will provide his perspective on the short story, the changes Hitchcock made, and why.
Members of the Daphne du Maurier Society of North America are thrilled that Ted is travelling to join them.
