The Daphne du Maurier Society of North America Summer 2026 Reading Retreat
This is a reminder that the Daphne du Maurier Society of North America will hold its annual reading retreat at Cottage Grove Association Dining Hall, Higgins Lake, Michigan, on Sunday, 26th July, from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm.
The afternoon will consist of coffee, treats and a discussion of Frenchman's Creek.
Local DNA member Laura Kirklen will lead the discussion of Daphne du Maurier's historical novel about Dona St. Columb's escape from her life in London into the world of a (handsome, very handsome) French pirate. The themes of the novel – infidelity, freedom and the conflict between societal expectations and personal desires – will be dissected and debated.
Regrettably, Zoom will not be available. The retreat is out in the woods of Michigan.
