The du Maurier Fowey Literary Festival Adult Short Story Competition – A Reminder
Before Christmas, we told you that the du Maurier Fowey Literary Festival adult short story competition had been launched. Now that we have moved into the New Year, we want to remind you that if you have not yet started writing, now is the time to do so.
Following the launch of After Midnight, Daphne du Maurier’s new collection of short stories, published on 30th September 2025, this year’s theme draws inspiration from that iconic collection. Writers are invited to explore the world after the clock strikes twelve, the strange, the beautiful, the unexpected.
Theme: After Midnight
1st Prize: £200
Runner-up: £100
